Iglesia de San Blas, Nicoya Nicoya is a pretty town which once played a significant part in Costa Rica's colonial history. The town's most significant landmark is the Iglesia de San Blas, a church dating back to the 16th Century. The white-washed church has been beautifully restored in recent years. It contains a number of religious figures of great age and a fine wooden-beamed interior.
Iglesia de San Blas, Nicoya The town has a peaceful and shady park and a wide selection of reasonable places to eat and drink. Nicoya's main day of celebration is July 25 when it celebrates Guanacaste's annexation by Costa Rica.
